Life & Change

Life design, dreams & goals, succeeding through life changes

Something doesn't feel right anymore, does it? Maybe it's that gut feeling getting louder and louder... Something has to change, but what, where, and how? Find clarity about what you truly want and the competence to actually walk that path.

Do you recognize yourself?

Does something have to change? Maybe it's a quiet voice that's been knocking for months—the job, the city, the relationship, the whole path; something about it no longer fits the person we've become. Or maybe it's loud and unavoidable—a breakup, a diagnosis, a loss that takes the choice away from us. Either way: the old way no longer sustains us. And we know it. Even if sometimes we'd rather not.

But what? Where? And how? We want clarity before we set off. We want to know where we're going. We want a guarantee that no one can give us. Instead: plans that dissolve as soon as we try them out. Days full of pioneering energy, followed by nights full of doubt. The space in between—between the intention and the start of the change—is not a waiting room; it's work.

The path seems clear, but actually following through with it?? Plans meet reality, and reality has its own ideas. We adjust, rethink, discard, and learn. Setbacks take our courage, but we "must" stay on track, keep learning, rethink, and keep going without burning out. And with every step, we don't just change our lives—we change ourselves. Until eventually, what we set out to do is no longer a project, but everyday life. And arriving in that everyday life is also something that needs to be learned.

You will learn...

Whether voluntary or involuntary—change is a matter of chances and possibilities. No matter what's behind it, that alone is a beautiful thing! :) In the first part of my program, it's exactly about feeling this internalized in a pure "towards-something" mindset and teaching you how to recognize the path that fits you, prepare for it, make good decisions, set priorities, and set off with self-confidence and motivation!

In the second part, you will learn how to pursue your goals with motivation and in logical steps, use your strengths, drivers, and inner roles, deal positively with setbacks and stumbling blocks, leave your comfort zone, persevere, stay balanced, and walk your path with joy. Look forward and believe in yourself; an exciting new chapter awaits you, with growth at every step!

Part 1: Recognizing, Setting Goals, Preparing

Your path from "away-from" to "towards-something"—tailored to you, ready for implementation, and mentally already at the finish line! You will learn:

  • to reflect, explore, and recognize what actually no longer fits and can be let go—if it's not dictated from the outside, this is often not as clear and simple as it appears at first or even tenth glance.
  • to close the chapter on the "old" and make room for the "new"—we don't throw things away; we integrate, let go, take experiences with us, and look forward to the new experiences and content to come.
  • to get to know yourself in a whole new way and find out what you truly want and need—your dreams, wishes, values, and needs, away from expectations, old self-images, and social pressure. A "towards-something" that is truly yours.
  • to develop visions that suit you—and to truly feel them—arriving at the goal mentally is not wishful thinking, but a foundation for success with motivation, clarity, and an inner pull that draws you rather than pushes you.
  • whether this path will also make you happy—a small excursion into the "Happiness and Satisfaction" program to distinguish and incorporate the difference between change and the pursuit of happiness.
  • to forge plans holistically—capacities, priorities, and good decisions—what comes first, what can wait, what can be dropped entirely. The foundation for turning a vision into a viable path.
  • Inner preparation—life change is never just a change on the outside! Expectations, flexibility
  • to prepare yourself internally—because life change is never just a change on the outside. Realistic expectations, inner flexibility, and the willingness to change yourself in the process are important companions.
  • to get your environment on board—change also affects the people around us. How do you communicate your planned change? Who supports you, who holds on to the past, who might fall away? And how do you handle this without unnecessarily damaging relationships or letting yourself be compromised?
  • to set off with self-confidence and the right mindset—transforming beliefs and inner blocks and starting with a success mindset instead of waiting for it to "happen on its own eventually."

Part 2: Walking the Path—Setting Off & Following Through

Plan meets reality. And reality has its own ideas. You will learn:

  • to actually take the first step—and cross the threshold where so many stop: between "I know what I want" and "I'm doing something about it now." This threshold has mechanisms, and it has tools.
  • to walk your path with joy—because the path is not just a means to an end; it is a chapter of your life in its own right. Growth with every step is not a bonus waiting at the end, but what happens along the way.
  • the conscious play with and expansion of your comfort zone—not through gritting your teeth and forcing yourself, but through understanding and invigorating, gradual, and sustainable expansion.
  • to consciously use your strengths, inner drivers, and inner roles—recognize the abundance of your resources and learn to apply and use them specifically; the difference between struggling and flowing.
  • to deal positively with setbacks, stumbling blocks, and doubts—they will come. Days full of energy, followed by nights full of "maybe this was all a mistake." No drama—soon to be an educational, smiling update to friends about your journey.
  • to adjust plans without giving up on the path—reality constantly changes the map. Those who stay flexible arrive. Those who stick rigidly to the plan or throw everything away at the first sign of headwind stay stuck. There is a middle ground, and it can be learned.
  • Togetherness in change and external support—taking steps together with partners, friends, and family, making clear requests for support, and letting your environment participate—they still see your old self.
  • the topic of discipline, focus, and "staying with it" ;)—self-leadership instead of waiting for motivation that doesn't come, or for a perfect moment that doesn't exist. This is a trainable skill.
  • to persevere and stay balanced—change is a long-distance race, not a sprint; don't burn out. Pace, breaks, energy management, the right balance between moving forward and taking a breath—all trainable.
  • to let yourself be changed by the transition—because it's not just your life that changes; you change with it. Those who embrace this don't arrive as an old version in a new life, but as a new, more mature version of themselves.
  • Arriving, landing, finding peace—this too needs to be learned! :) Recognize when you are there and that it is enough. Arrive not just mentally, but also emotionally and deep within yourself, without slipping back into old patterns.

Important points about the program

A word on the difference between crisis & life change

Change often follows a crisis, but please be aware that these two topics are distinct, and the "away-from" and "towards-something" motives present can interact in highly critical ways. Making decisions for your future life directly out of a crisis carries the risk of seeing the situation with a strong bias, overcompensating, or prematurely grabbing whatever opportunities present themselves out of a need for security. Sure, the latter could be a stroke of luck, but please be careful and talk to people who know you and whose honest external perspective you trust.

If at all possible: first reach a stable position, then process, and THEN approach your life change calmly and thoughtfully! So, at the earliest during Part 2 (stability and processing). On the other hand, there is no urgent need to prioritize processing your past over a life change in the here and now. In fact, change in your life can facilitate your processing if you take that into account during your transition. Just ask me about it! :)

And also a word on life change and the pursuit of happiness:

Here again, we have two very different topics, but these two complement each other like almost no others, and I deeply advocate considering them together. A path on the outside and one on the inside—a beautiful, parallel journey! :)

Important professional distinction

In my areas of expertise and activities, I clearly distinguish myself from the fields of psychotherapy and life and social counseling. Should you be looking for active advice/assistance with specific elaboration/processing of your problems and life issues and/or be struggling with serious mental health issues such as depression, trauma, or mental illness, these are your primary professional directions and points of contact. If you are unsure, let's talk about it. Likewise, if topics arise in our work together for which you need active help, we will discuss it. Depending on the topic, I would be happy to put you in touch with suitable colleagues from my network, while we either pause our training for the time being or continue it alongside. Please never hesitate to bring up any overwhelming topics that arise.
