#1 Professional Hedonism – Party to highest value

Exceed “having most fun” – learn the tools to steer your hormone cocktail, to „get most out of“ your festival and to take the energy home with you.

read more (click to unfold):

You know how to party—no question about it. But is “having the most fun” really the same as “getting the most out of your festival”? In this workshop, we’ll check your fun drive together and you’ll learn the difference between a dopamine rush and a serotonin high. You’ll get tools to help you control your hormone cocktail instead of being controlled by it. Plus: How can you integrate your experiences so that you can feed off the festival for a long time to come, and how can you avoid the “serotonin slump”? For all professional fun junkies who want more than just hangover stories.

What participants take away:

  • Understand and FEEL the difference between dopamine and serotonin
  • What we remember and how we create value that we can take along + personal value map creation
  • How we define & create our experience ourselves
  • Integration in the now and after: how to carry the festival glow into real life
  • To create a beneficial ending to take it all with
  • To conquer the serotonin drop – no homecoming depression
  • How to reverse the hedonistic treadmill and to reestablish happiness in everyday life

#2 The Mind Switch: Festival Arrival Made Easy

Arrive faster, leave smoother: learn simple mental hacks and rituals to slip into your festival state quickly—and land back home without emotional jet lag.

read more: (click to unfold)

Do you know that feeling? It takes you forever to really “arrive” at the festival, on vacation, in the moment. And just as long to get back to being halfway functional in the default world. In this workshop, we’ll work on your personal “mental arrival process.” You’ll learn simple but incredibly effective mental hacks and how to create little rituals that will help you get into your festival state much faster. We’ll also look at the way back: how can you land softly instead of getting stuck in emotional jet lag? For anyone who wants to hop between their worlds professionally.

What participants take away:

  • Mental aspects of switching between worlds
  • Understanding the arrival process, building a personal timeline of steps
  • Tools and Methods to support, influence and steer this process + the power of anchoring
  • The power of rituals and building one’s own
  • A personal end-ritual to the festival and a transition plan for returning into „default-world“
  • If workshop early in the festival: a guided arrival meditation, to kick-start everybody still in arrival

Proud of them all:

#3 Dealing with Criticism: Develop Non-Violent Hearing

Feedback – sometimes more like a verbal shotgun blast to the face. In this workshop, we’ll turn down the volume and transform your hearing. What used to feel like a personal attack, you’ll soon hear for what it is: the other person’s feelings and needs. No matter if you are familiar with “NVC” or not, this life-practical workshop will lead you to one of the most advanced forms of Non Violent Communication and onto the path of the master Marshall Rosenberg himself. A workshop that is clear, direct, humorous – and extremely useful in everyday life  – not to communicate, but to create a happier, nicer world-perception for you. Sugarcoating and Whitewashing? Absolutely not… I promise you a re-learning of something, you once already knew to be true!

What participants take away:

  • Philosophy behind NVC and why “the popular NVC-tool” often fails
  • Rethinking communication and reflection of our perception
  • Transformation of our interpretation and perception of criticism
  •  Tools for self-regulation and structured rethinking, if criticism triggers a sore spot
  • How to react to criticism, our implied obligation
#4 Edgework: Peak Experiences & Integration

Festivals can open us up — and they can also push us out of our comfort zone and right to the edge: socially, emotionally, energetically — through music, sleep loss, crowds, experiences, weather or substances, if we aimed for it or not. This workshop will give you more self-efficacy on the edge between good and bad, salubrious and noxious — in the moment, as well as after: You’ll learn practical tools for managing your mindset to help you better „perceive“ and navigate your experiences, as well as self-regulation for those overwhelming moments. You’ll also learn about ways to integrate these experiences, both in the moment and in aftercare, to make meaning and turn tough moments into valuable learning experiences instead of fresh traumas.

What participants take away:

  • How perception and body cues change under intensity + a personal „edge radar“

  • Practical state-of-mind management and steering through self-regulation, attention, pacing, …
  • Safety first, dealing with triggers/boundaries and practical self-aid tools for overwhelming moments
  • An integration map: perceptions -> interpretations -> reflections -> lessons, …
  • Personal reflection prompts, especially for experiences of substance-induced „shifted perception of reality“
  • Aftercare essentials to support the mental recreation
#5 State management, self-regulation, and personal quick-aids

High stimulation and intensity can be beautiful — until it becomes too much. In this workshop you learn simple and highly practical self-regulation tools for intense festival realities and overwhelming situations. We will make use of some of the best techniques of breathwork, tapping, anchoring and state management which you will learn as self-help tools. And we will look into, what we can do for others in state of overwhelm. An interactive and drill-based workshop (practical training, not theory-heavy) that will give you a toolkit you will be able to use immediately — day and night.

What participants take away:

  • Recognize early personal signs of overwhelm (body + mind)
  • Many practical tools to calm down, stabilize, ground and reassure, which they can use anywhere (breathwork, tapping, anchoring, attention and mental techniques)
  • Creating a token of safety and grounding as “reality anchor”
  • Asking for support and supporting others
  • How to recover faster after intense moments – self-care & Integration

Setup & Logistics (simple and flexible)

    Setup:

    • Beamer: valuable, not essential
    • Flipchart: valuable, not essential
    • Microphone: depending on area size / noise level (you know your area best)
      – Lavalier mic with transmitter preferred
    • Audio system: very valuable, not essential… 3.5mm input or Bluetooth please
    • No silence needed — I can work with festival conditions

    Booking preference:

    • Ideal: 2 workshops (happy with 1, open to more)
    • Preferably close together rather than spread across the full festival (so I’m flexible with travel + on-site time)

    • Crew camping space (sleep matters when I’m performing)
    • Recording permit for photos & video-clips for own marketing (in accordance with your terms)

    About

Who I am & why I do this

I’m Phil (Philipp Janu), creator of Chapter of Growth — workshops and supporting people in their personal growth and life happiness is my daily business. My motto: „Your personal best way to your personal best self and the knowledge and tool you need to walk this path!“

I love Psytrance as well as Burning Man culture — the music, the art, the community, the intensity — and going to festivals is a big part of every year’s summer season. Logically, when becoming self-employed, I also brought a workshop of mine to a local Burn, to see, if the community likes my work in that context. It went down just wonderful, so natural and smooth supported by great feedback, after all, I was gifting a workshop in the middle of „my people“.

So I started creating more workshops, specifically designed for festivals and our community, and taking them more and more with me „on tour“. And just like that, I connected what I love with my job and what I do best, reaching new audience by supporting my community and likewise justifying my festival summer by supporting my business — nice! And also for me: I very much enjoy the happy smiles out of pure fascination of the topic and joy for gaining so unexpectedly much by the workshop — big difference to workshops, to which participants attend out of need and pain — again, how nice?! :)
